You know what really frosts my flakes?
Blocking a phone number and still getting voicemail messages from it.
This is happening more and more. A spam call comes in, usually from a political organization, medical office robot or some company I never asked to hear from.
So, I block the number.
The next time they call, my phone doesn’t even ring. The call gets rejected and disappears into the dark hole of the internet, exactly where I want it to go.
But, a few minutes later, my phone alerts me that I have a new voicemail.
Thinking I missed a call from someone I actually want to talk to, I stop what I’m doing and check the message.
“Hello. This is Robot A331 from Political Action Committee XYZ reminding you that voting starts in one month. If you really care about this country, you must vote for the candidates we tell you to vote for.”
Are you kidding me?
My recent call history clearly shows the number was blocked. So why on earth was the caller allowed to leave me a message?
Maybe this is just a problem with my cell phone provider, Patriot Mobile. Does this happen to anyone else?
When I block a phone number, I’m not saying, “Please don’t ring my phone, but feel free to leave me a three-minute message.”
I’m saying I never want to hear from that person, organization or company again. I don’t want the call, I don’t want the text and I certainly don’t want the voicemail.
I’m Grandpa Grumpy and I’m beyond tired of phone calls, text messages, emails and social media posts from robots blasting me with nonsense.
If I block a number, then BLOCK THE NUMBER!
