It's irritating whenever those “life-saving devices” turn into sleep-destroying torture machines the second their battery gets low.

You have to stumble through your house in the dark, squint at microscopic instructions and decide whether you need to perform an exorcism just to stop it from chirping.

You can't just replace the battery. No, you have to replace the entire device.

They're relentless little mockers.

Why do people treat their food like it just made the honor roll?

Some folks just can’t eat a meal without turning it into a full-blown photo shoot.

Even worse, they make over-the-top food videos where every bite sounds like a steamy scene from a romance movie.

Nobody can eat until the lighting and placement is just right like they're filming a commercial.

We used to say grace before meals. Now people say, “Hold on, I need content.”

It bugs me to walk into a business and get greeted by a human door alarm.

“Welcome in.”
“Thanks for coming in.”

Same monotone voice. Same disinterested tone. Same zero effort.

Wow, I feel as welcome as a telemarketer at dinner time.

Companies should use real motion detectors instead. It would feel more sincere.

I hate it when I'm trying to use my phone and suddenly nothing works because some setting decided to change itself.

I didn’t touch anything or update anything. But, now I'm locked out like I forgot the secret handshake.

I've come to realize that smart phones that aren’t all that smart. They've got more settings than a mutant centipede.

You take time to write something thoughtful, and back comes a thumbs up like you just completed a task.

No words.
No response.
Just a tiny yellow face doing all the heavy lifting.

And somehow that counts as communication.

Group messages are even worse. One actual reply followed by a parade of emojis like it’s a digital pep rally.

My phone lights up like it’s urgent, and it’s just Bob agreeing with a picture.

You walk out to the mailbox hoping for something real, but it’s nothing except credit card offers, fake “urgent” notices, and coupons for things you’d never buy.

I got three real letters so far this month, and enough junk mail to build a small paper fort.

You manage to push it through the entire store, load it up and navigate the checkout. But, suddenly the cart return is just too far away.

So instead, carts get left in parking spaces, rolling across the lot or not-so-gently introduced to someone else’s car door.
