Today, I want to talk about some of the dumbest things the internet has ever convinced people to do.

Apparently, somebody posted a feel-good story about a man singing "Tears in Heaven" to a tiger, and now we're all supposed to believe that giant carnivores are just fuzzy music lovers looking for a private concert.

Folks, that's not a fan, it's a tiger.

And if you think climbing into a tiger enclosure with a guitar is a good idea, you might be the reason warning labels need to exist in the first place.

Settle in because I want to talk about why viral videos and common sense rarely occupy the same cage.

When did a trip to an amusement park start requiring the same financial planning as buying a used car?

I took my grandchildren to a major amusement park and discovered that parking costs $40, admission can run nearly $100 a person and a soda requires a small business loan.

Once inside, I discovered half the food stands, beverage stations, games and rides weren't even operating.

Apparently, amusement parks have adopted the airline business model. Charge more, provide less and hope nobody notices.

Well, I'm Grandpa Grumpy and I noticed. Shouldn't full-price admission should come with full-service entertainment.

I'm Grandpa Grumpy, the only man in America who can walk through an entire row of motion-activated faucets and not trigger a single one.

Apparently, modern technology has decided I'm either invisible, a ghost, AI or no longer qualified to wash my hands.

I'm talking about motion-activated appliances. You know, those faucets, hand dryers and towel dispensers that are supposed to make life easier but somehow require the coordination of a traffic cop and the patience of a saint.

If you've ever stood in a public restroom waving your arms around like you're directing an orchestra just to get a drop of water, this rant is for you.

I swear these things aren't motion activated. They're annoyance activated.

Am I the only guy who can walk into a barber shop with 70 percent less hair than I had 30 years ago and still get charged luxury salon prices?

Apparently, I'm not getting a haircut anymore. I'm getting a "grooming experience."

What is it with barbers who want $25 to $35 plus a tip to trim what's left of my hair? Apparently, men have become just a little too obsessed with their hairstyles.

Hotel bathroom sinks are one of the greatest mysteries in modern hotel design.

Why do those sinks come with two inches of counter space and drains that move slower than government paperwork?

Apparently, hotel designers think travelers only bring a toothbrush and a positive attitude.

Meanwhile, I've got a razor, glasses, medications, a comb, toothpaste and clothes for after my shower, and there's nowhere to put any of it.

Then, after washing my hands, I get to watch the sink fill up like a backyard pond because the drain moves at the speed of continental drift.

So if you've ever balanced your toiletries on the edge of a hotel sink and prayed they wouldn't fall into a pool of standing water, this rant is for you.

Why are electric companies covering some of the best farmland in America with solar panels.

Now before anybody starts sending me angry emails powered by renewable energy, let me be clear. I like solar power. I have solar panels on my own roof.

What I don't understand is why we're paving over farmland when there are millions of square feet of empty rooftops and parking lots just sitting there soaking up sunshine.

Apparently somebody looked at a productive farm and said, "You know what this place needs? Less food and more glass."

Can someone help me figure out why common sense seems to be in shorter supply than sunshine in Wisconsin?

Remember when social media was a place where real people shared real photos and occasionally argued about who made the best potato salad? Not anymore.

Now computers post pictures for other computers who leave comments generated by other computers while humans scroll through it wondering why they feel strangely lonely.

If all the AIs are posting content for other AIs to read, what exactly are the rest of us supposed to be doing?

You ever notice that online ads don't want your attention anymore? They want your surrender.

I was just trying to check the weather and somehow ended up trapped in an ad for a game I don't want, a product I don't need and a website I never intended to visit.

Apparently, advertisers have decided the best way to earn customers is to hold them hostage.

There is no X button, skip button or exit button. Just a big static photo or a giant flashing button that says "INSTALL NOW!," but never closed like its caught in a time warp.
