Have you ever wondered how the stock market can go up 800 points before breakfast, drop 1,000 points by lunch and then somehow end the day exactly where it started?
I stopped paying attention to that nonsense years ago.
But, apparently, there are armies of robots, day traders and television experts staring at computer screens all day trying to explain it to us.
When I graduated from high school, the Dow was around 800. Today it’s over 50,000. Yet, every time the market wiggles a little bit, the news acts like civilization is hanging by a thread.
It appears Wall Street has become a squirrel convention with robots are buying and selling stocks faster than I can find my reading glasses.
That’s why normal people might be better off ignoring all of that nonsense and going fishing instead. After all, Wall Street has proven that it rewards patience over and over again.
Stock market fluctuations are all part of the plan to keep us anxious and fearful. I’d rather watch squirrels.
