Setting that change themselves

I didn’t touch anything or update anything. But, now I'm locked out like I forgot the secret handshake.

You know what really frosts my flakes?
Settings that change themselves.

I’ve used the Amazon shopping app on my phone everywhere for years.
Same phone. Same app. Same everything.

Last night?
It just stops working.

Tells me I’m not authorized to use cellular data.
Hogwash.

Now all of a sudden, after years of working just fine,
my phone decides I’m some kind of security risk?

Then it “helpfully” tells me I can fix it in Settings.

Oh sure.
Because nothing says “quick fix” like digging through 26 categories…
each with 40 more things buried inside them.

If these are smart phones,
why don’t they just take me to the exact setting that’s broken?

Nope.
They just drop you into Settings like it’s the middle of a corn maze
and say, “Good luck, pal.”

So I check all the obvious places.
Nothing.

Finally, in desperation, I copy the error message into ChatGPT.
It points me in the general direction…
but even that sends me looking for something that doesn’t exist.

So now I’m taking screenshots like I’m documenting a crime scene.

Eventually, after 20 minutes of poking around,
I find the one tiny switch some invisible gremlin flipped.

And just like that… it works again.

Same app. Same phone. Same everything.
Except now I’ve aged three years trying to fix it.

I’m Grandpa Grumpy,
and smart phones aren’t smart…
they’re just sneaky little troublemakers with keypads.
