You know what really frosts my flakes?
People who think a gas pump is their own personal parking space.
You pull into a busy gas station and every pump is occupied and there’s a line of cars waiting.
You figure it’ll only be a minute. Nope.
Three-quarters of those vehicles aren’t even getting gas anymore. They’re just sitting there while the driver is inside shopping for a sandwich, a jumbo soda, beef jerky, lottery tickets and apparently a new career.
Folks, the gas pump isn’t a reserved parking spot. It’s a gas pump.
Here’s a revolutionary concept. Fill your tank. Put the nozzle back. Then move your car to one of the dozens of parking spaces next to the building before you go shopping.
I know. It means walking an extra 30 feet. But somehow humanity survived that terrible hardship for generations.
The rest of us shouldn’t have to sit there staring at your parked car while you’re debating which flavor of potato chips best complements your energy drink.
A little courtesy goes a long way. Once you’re done pumping, move your car. The next person in line will appreciate it.
I am Grandpa Grumpy and I’d like to remind everyone that a little courtesy goes a long way, even at the convenience store.
